In a recent exciting development, Dallas-based Skybox Datacenters LLC and Prologis Inc. charts a new chapter with their $63 million, 148,500-sf data center in Pflugerville, near New Meister and Meister Lanes. This will serve as the second phase to an earlier development, promising to escalate the tech boom in Central Texas.
Set to kick-off in December and due for completion in October 2024, the project includes a one-story building housing the data center and a two-story office. This follows closely on the heels of the first phase, a whopping $548 million, 30-megawatt data center that sprawls across 141,000 sf at the northeast corner of New Meister and Meister Lanes. Creating ten full-time primary jobs, this facility is a strong testament to the pulsating economic activity in the region.
Both these awe-inspiring projects are amply powered by not one, but two Oncor electric substations. Nestled on a total area of about 21 acres, ownership of the two parcels lies with Austin Data Center 1 LLC and Austin Data Center 2 LLC, both linked to Prologis.
