Planning for the Future: Texas Seeks Public Insight for Winter Storm Action Plan

As a response to the significant impact of the 2021 winter storms, The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is taking proactive measures by seeking public input on its newly designed 2021 Winter Storms Action Plan. The focus of the plan is the effective utilization of a staggering $43.6 million grant disbursed for disaster recovery by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

This substantial allocation has been particularly dedicated to Texas, aiming to assist recovery in areas adversely affected by the winter storms of February 2021. Intent on creating an action plan that resonates with the needs of the community, the GLO is inviting residents to voice their opinions and concerns during a virtual public hearing scheduled for Thursday, November 16, at 6:00 p.m.

Residents interested in shaping the future of their community’s disaster preparation and recovery efforts have a deadline of 5 p.m. December 6, 2023, to submit their valuable contributions. Detailed information regarding participation can be found on the GLO’s website. Original article available [here](https://www.recenter.tamu.edu/news/newstalk-texas/?Item=30189).
