Exploring Central Texas’ Booming Population Growth Post-Pandemic

Central Texas has experienced significant population growth post-pandemic, with the state now surpassing 30 million residents and ranking second in the country behind California. The primary driver behind this growth has been domestic migration, accounting for 49% of the overall increase. Six of the top ten U.S. counties with the largest numerical growth and five of the ten fastest-growing counties are in Texas, with Harris County ranking second in numerical growth and Kaufman County second in growth rate among all U.S. counties. This pattern of population increase in metropolitan core counties and high growth rates in surrounding suburban areas emphasizes the constant development of residential real estate in our region.
