The excitement around Waco ISD’s $355 million facilities bond has reached new heights as first renderings for the final two schools, Kendrick Elementary School and the renovated South Waco Elementary School, have finally been unveiled.
Austin-based architectural firm, O’Connell Robertson, promises a fantastically upgraded landscape. The future looks bright and inviting for Kendrick Elementary School, with outdoor features, courtyards, and a distinctive enclosed dining area in the design plan. For South Waco Elementary School, preparations include a new wing of classrooms and a charming paved tricycle path. With plans and renderings for both schools released, the community is eagerly awaiting the transformation.
Safety is paramount in the new designs, which include the addition of interior lockdown doors, eight-foot fencing across both campuses, and security glazing on certain exterior windows.
The construction work scheduled for the first quarter of 2024 will necessitate some adjustments. Kendrick Elementary students will be relocated to the former Indian Spring Middle School building, and at South Waco, renovation phases will require classroom reassignments and food truck services as a temporary cafeteria.
These major improvements are slated to be ready by fall 2025. Meanwhile, the community will see G.W. Carver Middle School ready for the 2023-24 school year, followed by Tennyson Middle School and finally Waco High School in 2025, all thanks to the same bond.
This facelift of the Waco ISD schools is a testament to the local community’s commitment to quality education and a bright future for Central Texas students. For more such updates on Real Estate Developments in Central Texas, stay tuned to Yee-Haw Development Marketing Group’s blog.
