Auto Salvage Yard in Austin to Become Vertical Mixed-Use Development
An auto salvage yard at 7900 S. Congress Ave. in Austin is set to become a vertical mixed-use development, according to the Texas Real Estate Research Center. The development will include more than 1,200 multifamily units, 210,000 square feet of office space, and a 136,000-square-foot shopping center. Additionally, 10 percent of the apartments in the development will be made available for tenants who are earning no more than 80 percent of the area median income. Construction has begun on a new 85,000-square-foot high school campus in Manor Independent School District (ISD). The campus will provide learning space for approximately 800 students and feature a commons area, buffet-style café, and coffee shop. This project is part of a larger $174 million academic development initiative and is expected to be finished in time for the 2023-24 school year. This is a major step forward in providing quality education options to the Manor ISD community.

Recently, two apartment communities in Pflugerville, Texas have been sold to TerraCap Management. The Dalton and The Beacon, which were both constructed in 2021 and 2022, respectively, feature 350 and 258 units each. These units offer one, two, and three bedroom housing options and come with a number of amenities, such as pools, fitness centers, dog parks, residence lounges, and outdoor grilling and dining areas. The properties were developed by Trez Capital in partnership with Thompson Realty Capital.

Del Valle Independent School District has recently acquired 149 acres of land in the Whisper Valley area for over $25 million.
