The expansive 376,000-acre campus is anticipated to generate a record-breaking 3.35 megawatts of energy, stemming from its extensive solar panel system. This achievement will mark the largest solar output within Austin’s city limits.
Paloma Ridge’s solar panel system is prepared to be switched on and start feeding the grid in the coming months. It distinctively overshadows the systems of other participants in Austin Energy’s Community Solar program.
Under this commendable program, customers receive credits equating the energy their on-site systems create. This discount extends to all power consumed by the office complex, thereby encouraging greater participation by the commercial sector in sustainable practices.
Paloma Ridge’s solar apparatus comprises rooftop solar panels and another array shading the complex’s parking lots. This impressive setup is projected to balance out over 3,400 metric tons of CO2 annually, equivalent to the power used by 775 gasoline-powered cars for a year.
Developed originally by Stream Realty Partners and now owned by the eminent Starwood Capital Group LLC, Paloma Ridge is home to prestigious tenants like Informatica, LPL Financial, eHealth, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The significant solar project was completed by Radial Power LLC, taking Austin’s renewable commitment to new heights.
