Discover Valley Park: Central Texas’ Upcoming 600-Acre Gem

Central Texas is about to get a new public park that will be the talk of the town! Valley Park, a massive 600-acre project, is currently being developed within the $2 billion Whisper Valley housing subdivision near Manor. Located just off the SH 130 tollway along FM 973 and extending east of Taylor Ln, this park is set to become a local hub of outdoor recreation.

With an estimated cost of more than $8 million, Valley Park will feature a wide array of amenities, including picnic areas, manicured open spaces, playgrounds, shade structures, restrooms, decomposed granite trails, community gardens, an events amphitheater, benches, landscaping, and signage.

The park is expected to become a central attraction for the ambitious master trail plan, which aims to connect Austin’s 4,000-acre Walter E Long Metropolitan Park and Lake Walter E. Long, Travis County’s 14-mile trail system, and the East Metropolitan Park through Whisper Valley. This will result in approximately 20 miles of trails for everyone to enjoy.

The first phase of Valley Park will involve designing and constructing miles of 12-ft-wide pedestrian trails, which will extend from the community retail center at FM 973 and along Gilleland Creek to Taylor Ln. The final design for the first phase is slated for completion in 2025, with construction commencing in 2026.

Valley Park is anticipated to be built in seven stages over six years, with Taurus Investment Holdings steering the development. Stay tuned for more updates on this incredible project, set to become a favorite destination among residents and visitors alike in Central Texas.
