Join the Ranks: TREC Committees Seeking Members in Central Texas

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is currently recruiting for new members to join its broker-lawyer and inspector committees. If you’re a professional with experience in the Central Texas real estate industry, this could be an opportunity to voice your ideas and influence the direction of the industry.

The broker-lawyer committee is responsible for creating and updating all contracts promulgated by TREC. At present, there are two positions available, with terms starting on September 1, 2023. If you’re a qualified broker or lawyer with expertise in real estate matters, consider applying to contribute your knowledge to this vital committee.

Meanwhile, TREC’s inspector committee has four openings, two for inspectors and two for public members. Inspector applicants must have a minimum of five years of professional real estate experience. Public members should represent the public and not be registered, certified, or licensed by an occupational or regulatory agency in the real estate field. The inspector committee provides guidance to TREC on matters relating to the licensing, education, and regulation of Texas inspectors.

If you’re interested in applying for either of these committees, be sure to submit your application by Friday, April 14, 2023. Joining a TREC committee is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of the Central Texas real estate industry.
